Yet there is an essential difference in shape that determines how stable a structure or machine ultimately stands. This makes a wedge ideal for spreading objects or splitting materials because the force is distributed to two sides. The disadvantage in precise adjustment work is that a double-tapered wedge can &#8220;walk&#8221; or slip away more quickly under high pressure or vibration.  <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a key? (Our specialty)<\/h2><p data-path-to-node=\"9\">A wedge is technically a wedge with <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"41\">one right angle (90\u00b0)<\/b>. One side is completely flat, while the other side slopes. This design is the standard for professionals in steel building, assembly and heavy construction.  <\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"10\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Note:<\/b> Euronique only supplies <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/euronique.nl\/en\/store-page\/\">wedges and wedges<\/a><\/span> with this <b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"63\">right angle<\/b>. We have deliberately chosen this range because a straight edge offers the highest degree of fixation and reliability when aligning and fixing heavy loads. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The physics behind the spline: The inclined plane<\/h2><p data-path-to-node=\"12\">The operation of our wedges is based on an ancient physical principle: the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"ng-star-inserted\" href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hellend_vlak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hveid=\"0\" data-ved=\"0CAAQ_4QMahgKEwjriI7TlfCSAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQ2wQ\">law of the inclined plane<\/a>.<\/span> By moving a small force horizontally over a greater distance (the length of the wedge), an enormous vertical force is generated.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Because Euronique&#8217;s wedge has one straight side, the force vector remains purely vertical. The straight side rests flat on the foundation or floor, transferring the force purely vertically. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"15,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Reliable under high loads:<\/b> Our wedges are designed for heavy-duty applications, such as setting steel columns, beams and machine parts. This is crucial for the safety of permanent structures. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b data-path-to-node=\"16,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Calculation example of force transmission:<\/b> Do you strike a wedge with a force of <b data-path-to-node=\"16,0\" data-index-in-node=\"68\">5 kg<\/b> at an angle of inclination of <b data-path-to-node=\"16,0\" data-index-in-node=\"110\">5\u00b0<\/b>?
