Why choose a metal mounting wedge over wood or plastic?
In construction and simple assembly jobs, wooden wedges or plastic wedges are often resorted to. For industrial precision leveling and heavy loads, however, these materials fall short. A steel or aluminum wedge of Euronique offers crucial advantages:
No Compression (vs. Wood): Wood works, rots and is compressed under heavy pressure. Our metal wedges are dimensionally stable and guarantee that a machine will be exactly the same height after years.
Minimal Deformation (vs. Plastic): Whereas plastic can “creep” (slowly deform) under constant load, steel and aluminum maintain their integrity.
Safety and Fire Resistance: Unlike wood, our metal set wedges are non-combustible and resistant to the weld spatter that is unavoidable in steel construction.
Permanent fixation: A steel levelling wedge offers stability that is not achievable with softer materials. Crucially, our wedges are cut for extra roughness. This texture maximizes the static friction between the wedge, the foundation and the machine base. This, combined with the self-braking angle, minimizes the chance of sideways displacement. This is essential for safety in vibration-prone installations.
Steel adjustment wedges for heavy duty machine alignment
When stability and bearing capacity are top priorities, the job planner chooses C45 steel leveling wedges. These are ideally suited for leveling foundation slabs and heavy machinery parks where minimum tolerances are allowed.
Material: High quality C45 steel (carbon steel), known for its high tensile strength and dimensional stability.

Aluminum mounting wedges: lightweight and corrosion resistant
For environments where weight reduction or corrosion resistance is an issue, our aluminum wedges provide the solution.
Protection of surfaces: Aluminum is softer than C45 steel. As a result, these wedges can be used to align machined machine parts or delicate flanges without leaving scratches or dents in the base material.
Corrosion-resistant: Naturally coated with an oxide layer, making them ideal for long-term installation in marine, offshore and cleanroom applications.
Non-magnetic: Ideally suited for installations near sensitive electronics, medical equipment (MRI) or magnetic systems where steel wedges would cause interference.
Handling: Due to their low dead weight, these mounting wedges are easier to position when working at height or in awkward angles.

We have large stocks on the shelf and can often deliver from stock. For extreme quantities, we are of course prepared to move quickly and scale up our production. We do recommend that they be cleaned after use, if necessary, and stored dry to maximize their service life, especially in long-term storage. Further specific aftercare is usually not required due to the robust nature of the materials.
No, our focus is exclusively on tapered wedges for adjusting, aligning and fixing. We do not supply wedges for shaft-hub connections (such as DIN 6885).
C45 is a steel with a higher carbon content. It is weldable, but for constructions that require frequent welding, it requires proper skill (such as preheating). For standard welding in steel construction, we can also supply other steel grades on request.
